Catacombs are underground burials, they began because of lack of land in the II century, the Jewish ones have Menorahs and other Jewish symbols on their gravestones. According to some researchers, published in National Geographic, the Jewish catacombs were antecedent the non-Jewish ones. The Jewish Catacombs in Rome are located in six places, two in Villa Torlonia, Via Nomentana, Via Appia, Via Ardeatina, Via Labicana and Monteverde.
